I have wanted to visit Brighton for a really long time, so for a little treat before my Birthday, me and my boyfriend decided to take a visit and stay a night to explore. Once it was booked I was so so excited to go, and as it was book quite well in advance I could be well prepared. We went up on the Thursday before Easter, it doesn’t really take that long to drive to Brighton, about 2 hours from where we live. I don’t know why we haven’t gone sooner!
When we first arrived there we decided to explore the shops and the lanes. Brighton has such good shopping facilities. They have a shopping mall, their town and the lanes. The lanes were my favourite as there you would find really quirky, antique shops. It is very easy to get lost round there!(well we did anyway…) Before we had arrived I said I wanted to visit the famous Choccywoccydoodah chocolate shop, and I’ll be blown , this was the first shop that we stumbled across in the lanes, so of course I went running in! It was totally amazing in there, the things you can do with chocolate hey! It made it that little more special as I think there is only one shop in Brighton, and one in London, so they are quite rare. There is also a TV programme about it too!
We then decided to head for some lunch, and where else would we go but Costa coffee?! After we were filled up and ready to go, we explored a bit more and came across North Lane which was a road full off even more quirky and hipster style shops. Down there I managed to find Oliver Bonas which I was super happy about as I am always ordering off their website but have never been one of their shops.
It was finally time for us to check in at our hotel. We stayed at the Queens Hotel and it was perfect for us. The location was key, we were right on the sea front overlooking the sea and pier, and just behind the hotel were all the shops and the lanes. We were within walking distance to almost everything. After checking in and freshening up, we headed out for dinner to Jame’s Italian which was lovely. Ryan went for steak and I went for a creamy pasta dish (yum). By this point it had started to rain white hard, and the wind was blowing like no tomorrow. We finished off our dinner at about half8, instead of heading to a bar/club we decided to head for the casino which we passed earlier in the day. ME and Ryan do secretly love a casino, and we came out with more than we went in with too which was a bonus!
On the Good Friday it was so busy. The weather was gorgeous and I think the whole of London had decided to come out to Brighton for the day. As the weather was so lovely we decided to have a day walking along the beach and pier, we also had a ride on the wheel which was lovely in the sun, we could see for miles.
I really loved Brighton, especially as we had really good weather, we were lucky! I would definitely go back again soon to have another shopping trip. What do you think about Brighton?
Love always, G x
