My Travel Make-Up

IMG_0738

Who doesn’t love a holiday?! My boyfriend and I are off to the great city (or so I’ve heard) of Amsterdam in a couple of days (we will be there now as you are reading this, yay!)

I love packing for a holiday, it’s one of my favourite things to do before we jet off. But I always find one of the hardest things is to decide which make-up products you are going to take away with you, because lets me honest, we would all love to take our whole make-up collection, but but we just can’t. Sigh.

So, as I am jetting off for a few days, I thought I would show you guys the make-up products I have decided to take away with me.

FACE

What I always start with is my face. I will always, always, take my Rimmel London Lasting Finish Concealer as I find this gives you the best coverage. I live by this concealer and can’t imagine my life without it now really. It’s perfect as it covers up dark circles, blemishes and any nasty spots that decided to appear when you least want them too. I also take the Maybelline Eraser Eye as this is also great for dark circles and brightening up the eye and under your brow bone. The foundation I use is the trusty Bourgeois City Radiance which I love, it gives you a medium coverage and lasts all day long which is exactly what you want when you’re out and about all day.T hen to finish my base, I always use my trusty Rimmel London Stay Matte powder, which just speaks for itself really.

Highlight/Contour

I always take a bronzer away with my to use as a contour product rather than my contour palette as it is a lot easier to take away, so I am taking with me my MAC Warm Soul Mineralise Blush which I use to contour my face. Then as you may know  highlighter is my favourite makeup product ever, so I just need to take my favourite products with me. At the weekends and days out I will also use a combo of products and 99% of the time I will use my The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer and Benefit’s Watt’s Up. I love applying Benefit’s Watt’s Up as this creates a lovely glowy base, then I will just go over that with a swipe of the Mary Lou-Manizer, and wow the finished highlight is just amazing. I really recommend this combo if you love a strong highlighted look like me.

Eyes

Then of course is the eyes. I decided to take with me my Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bon palette as I feel this has the best variety of shades and I use it almost everyday anyway. I can create any look with this palette and I don’t need to take any others with me so this is great. I also use the teal colour in the palette for a waterline liner look which is really pretty and love creating at the moment. I use the Soap and Glory Supercat eyeliner for my top eyelash lid as I think it creates the perfect line and also winged eye look if your going for a more dramatic look. I also use Soap and Glory Archery pencil for my brows as I don’t like to define my eyebrows too much but it just gives them the shape they need and a little fill in which is great. The I always use the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara, which is a great dupe for Benefit’s Roller Lash.

Lips

Last but not least is my lips. I am taking a nude colour lip for the day time which is the Too Faced Liquid Lipstick in Nude which is a great everyday natural shade, these also last all day long which is exactly what you need whilst on a city holiday. I am also taking with me my bright pink Mac lipstick in Long legged and fabulous. This is a gorgeous pale, bright pink colour which I thought would be nice as I am wearing a lot of pinky\white clothes so it will just brighten up my outfit.

I am just putting all my makeup in this clear makeup bag which I bought in Boots as part of a set, as they are easy to see where everything is and they also have quite a lot of room in them.

What are your travel makeup essentials?

Love always, G x
