The Cells – Restaurant Review

I have never done a review on a restaurant before, but as soon as I walked into this place, I was like woah.

So it was my besties birthday last week, you may already heard of her because she is also a follow blogger, Kirsty. She was umming and arring where to go for her birthday and she decided on The Cells.
The Cells restaurant is located underneath the old magistrates court where they kept prisoners. When I heard they were making an old prison cell into a restaurant I was like what?! That’s a bit weird. But I had the best time. Its underground, which you don’t really think you are when you’re inside, and each cell is a little room with either one big table/party or a few little tables in. Each room was themed, we were in the padded room so the walls were covered in cushions. I suppose this was to represent the prisoners in the cells going mental. There were also themed rooms such as the graffiti room, i’m a celebrity room, haunted room, bloody room and medieval room. I definitely want to go again and try and ask for a different room as they all have different stories about them. The staff wore all in one orange jumpsuits as if they were prisoners. The food was really nice, it was more like a grill so I decided to have the ‘Inside Out’ which was basically a chicken great covered in bacon, cheese and BBQ sauce.

If you’re in the Essex area then I definitely recommend going to The Cells, it’s completely different to any other restaurant i’ve ever been too. I’m definitely going to go again, I would like to either be in the bloody room or the haunted room. I love the novelty of this place. Please let me know if you decide to go and what you think of it.

Love always, G x
