Valentines Get Ready With Me

Valentine’s Day. Uhhhhh some of you might say. But Valentine’s day isn’t just showing your love for your partner, it’s love to anyone. Family, friends, even pets. No-one should be lonely, or feel lonely on Valentines day.
I was very lucky to be treated for a lovely meal out with my boyfriend. We decided to go to Zizzi’s which is an Italian restaurant. Of course I wanted to dress up a little bit and add a bit of Valentine’s theme to my look.

Of course the first step to getting glamed up is a nice hot shower. I used the Soap and Glory Whipped Clean  shower butter which is my absolute fave. I love anything with almond in, and this is just heaven in a bottle for me. I also use Garner Ultimate Blends The Sleek Restorer shampoo & conditioner. I really love this one as the ingredients is mostly coconut oil and cocoa butter which does wonders for your hair.

I really like the make-up look I went for. I usually go for the natural brown/gold/nude look but as it was Valentine’s day I thought I should spice it up a little bit. I didn’t want to go for the cliche red (although I do love a red lippy) So I decided to go for the pink look instead.

I used my favourite foundation ever which is the Nars Weightless Foundation in the shade Dauville. This gives me the perfect coverage I need and will stay on all night. I have recently discovered the make-up brand Kiko, which I am loving so much! I don’t know why I haven’t discovered it before… I used the Kiko radiant touch highlighter and long lasting stick. The highlighter really reminds me of the Nars highlighter sticks, its a very creamy and pigmented product, I love the shimmer and glow it leaves on my cheeks. Also the shimmer stick is so pigmented and creamy, and really long lasting! The lipstick I decided to use is a new personal favourite of mine. Its Rimmel London Kate in number 16. Its the most gorgeous pinky/peach/coral colour. Perfect for the Spring/Summer time (and Valentine’s day!) This is definitely going to be a new favourite of mine.

As for jewellery, I decided to go for simple & statement. The necklace I wore was quite the statement piece. I had had this for so long I can’t even remember where I got it from or when I got it. I have never really worn it before but I thought it would go perfectly with my outfit and fits in the theme for Valentines day perfectly. As for the simply jewellery, I went for a little arrow ring and bangle (trying to represent cupid here) which I got from a cute little online shop called Coconut Lane ( if you enter code ‘gemmastorey20’ at the checkout you will receive 20% off- cheeky promo) They do really cute jewellery and prints, phones cases etc.

As for perfume, I decided to wear my most favourite perfume, in the world! Viktor and Rolf Bon Bon. I was so lucky to receive this perfume for Chritmas from my family, I am so in love with it. It’s a gorgeous scent which stays on all day. I only wear this for special occasion or days as I really don’t want to waste a drop of it. But it was the perfect fit for Valentines day.

I really love this look I went for, I wore quite a casual outfit to go with it, a black leather skirt, a black roll top and black boots. So I feel like the accessories I wore and the jewellery really complimented the whole look.

I hope you guys had a lovely Valentine’s weekend, whatever you got up too! Let me know what you did an dhow you celebrated. I definitely got truly spoilt.

Love always, G x
