I think just like most people, Christmas is my favourite time of the year! Everyone’s just seems so much happier and there is lots of exciting and festive things to do.
When I was invited to head down to intu Lakeside for the opening of their Christmas Market, I jumped at the chance, especially as it involved Christmas.
The Christmas market has lots of exciting and festive things to do, from ice skating and visiting Santa in his grotto, to sipping mulled wine and hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, what could be more perfect?!
I felt quite important when the manager of intu Lakeside made a quick speach for the opening of the event, even one of the MP’s were there!
I went with my best friend who is also a blogger, Kirsty. The first thing we did when we got there was grab a hot chocolate. The bar looks incredible and had every drink you could imagine, but as it was so cold, a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows went down a treat.
After finishing our yummy hot chocolates, we were umming and arring weather to be brave and have a go on the skates, we decided to go for it! The skates were quite hard to put on but it was such a laugh. I started off slow but slowly got the hang off it, although I never went far from the side. Kirsty on the other hand was wizzing by! Thank goodness I didn’t fall over…
Unfortunately the rides and food stalls weren’t open when we went, but we could see them and they looked so cute and so much fun!
The market is open now until 1st January so I would get yourself down there! It’s located in Car Park 3 (which you can’t miss as it’s so huge and bright!) the skating is priced £9.75 for adults and £7.75 for under 16’s. It’s the perfect afternoon out, and you may as well do some Christmas shopping whilst you’re there!
I definitely want to head back, it’s the perfect way to finish off some christmas shopping, relax with hot chocolate or mulled wine and enjoy the festivities.
Love always, G x
