‘What’s your favourite film?’

When someone asks me ‘What’s your favourite film?’ I get really excited. I am such a film geek, I love watching films and one of my favourite things to do is go to the cinema, in comfy clothes and grab a tango ice blast – perfect.

Okay, so first of all this is the hardest question I am ever asked, I can’t just name one film. I normally say I have a favourite film for each genre.

So, I thought I would share with you a few of my all time favourite films, it might give you motivation to watch them, or really put you off! It’s fascinating how everyones opinions are so different about films. A lot of people are really shocked when I tell them my top favourite films, so here they are.

The Greatest Showman

Okay, this film isn’t even out on DVD yet, it’s still in the cinemas. I honestly cannot rave about this film enough. It is possibly (I can’t believe I’m saying this) the best film I have ever seen. If you want to watch a good fun family filled movie, then this is the one. The music is incredible (can’t stop listening to the soundtrack and it’s been nearly a month since I’ve seen the film). Hugh Jackman is the main character and honestly I was blown away by the character he played, and the songs he sang. Absolutely incredible! I cannot rave about it enough. And if that doesn’t sway you enough already, Zac Efron is in it(You’re welcome).

Shutter Island

What an amazingggggg film. Ok, so this one is a little bit different. I think you would call it a mystery/thriller film. It’s very dark, jumpy and a little weird, but there is a massive twist at the end, and my god it’s amazing. The storyline, and how it’s been filmed is just incredible. A bit darker than your usual happy chappy film but such an incredible one. Also, Leo is the main character soooo, there is my excuse!

Gone Girl

This film had me hooked right form the very beginning. It really pulls you in to the storyline, and you’re sat there wandering what the hell is happening, or what’s going to happen. I won’t spoil it for you but it’s just amazing. It has quite a dark element to it, mysterious and a bit ‘psycho’ but I love that sort of weirdness to a film, a bit like Shutter Island! A must watch if you like a film to get you thinking, and get your inner detective to come out.

Disney films. I find it so hard to narrow Disney films down to one as they are all just amazing. I obviously love the classic films like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and  Peter Pan. But I have to say, I think Moana has topped them, just by a little bit! Moana is so motivating for a young girl. I love the story behind the film. It’s more about a strong, independent girl, who don’t need no man! Wheras most Disney films are all about damsel’s in distress. So I absolutely love that moral behind it, and also Moana doesn’t end up falling in love with the main boy character. Just an amazing Disney film and I love the story it tells.

Wolf of Wall Street

My favourite comedy film ever. I am normally not into ‘cheesy’ comedy, but I call this films ‘adult’ comedy, and I absolutely loved it. I knew as soon as it started that I was going to love the film. I love the actors in the film, and the characters they play. I don’t think there is a film out there like this one. It’s a bit off the rails and very near the mark – but it’s hilarious. I definite must watch if you love adult humour. I also love the era that it’s set in, and the fact it’s in New York (my favourite city ever).

These are just a few of my favourite films, I love all different genres too! What are your favourite films that you think I need to watch?

Love always, G x

I have seen everything but not Moana. Can you believe that?! The Finnish version of it is everywhere here, but I don’t want to see that! I need the original version. And ooooh The Greatest Showman. Obsessed.
