As I am writing this, it is mine and Ryan’s 9 year anniversary together. Wow how time flies!
We got together when we started college, and here we are now, 9 years later living together, with a mortgage and things are better than ever! But then 2020 happened, and our 9th year together turned upside down.
I know that 2020 is a year that everyone had amazing plans, things to look forward too and get excited about. But I don’t know about anyone else, but they have just been pushed out the window by COVID-19.
As you are all aware, this year was our big holiday year! We bit the bullet and booked our two week holiday to Florida to spend at DisneyWorld. Although our holiday hasn’t officially been cancelled, we know that we will not be going this year. Disney have announced their rules and changes for the rest of the year and we decided that it would not be the experience we wanted. So I will give an update of what we are doing when we know more nearer the time.
We are obviously gutted that we won’t be going, as it was a big holiday for us and something we have been looking forward too for years! If you had a holiday booked and it’s been cancelled, just know that you are allowed to be upset about it.
We also had two weddings of very close friends to look forward too, along with hen dos, but again COVID-19 happened. One has been postponed and the other, I have all my fingers and toes crossed that will still be going ahead. Again something which 2020 had instore for us and just taken away like that with this virus.
I don’t want this to be a negative post, so on to the things to look forward too…
So we are going to make next year bigger and better than ever! We will (hopefully) have our Disney plans back in the diary for next year, and we will be even more excited I am sure! Even if it’s not next year, we know we will be going sometime in the future which is something to look forward too. DisneyWorld is a dream for me and Ryan, and it means more than anything to go there together.
In the last 9 years we have done so much together, and travelled to some amazing places! Ryan took me to DisneyLand Paris for my 21st birthday, what a treat! It was one the best long weekends of my life, and I would go back tomorrow if I could!
We then managed to get to Las Vegas! Vivaaaaaa Las Vegas. This was Ryans dream destination so we decided to go for his 21st birthday, along with his mum and dad and it was amazing! One of the best places I have been too, and I would love to be able to go back again one day now we are that bit older.
We also went to Thailand a few years back, for a 10 day relaxation holiday on the island of Koh Samui. What a dream! The clearest waters, and golden sandy beaches everywhere! Not forgetting that Thai massage on the beach, lush!
We’ve also moved in together, just over two years ago now! Probably one of the biggest steps in our relationship and it’s going so perfectly. We both managed to save and get a deposit and a mortgage, which is a huge achievement which we are so proud of.
Sometimes it’s easy to forget how far you have come, and forget about now.
So here is to next year, 10 years together, and hopefully the start of more amazing memories together! 🖤
Love always, G x
