Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is cancelled.

This morning when I woke up, I went on to Instagram, as I normally do, to see what everyone is up to and what i’ve missed overnight. Because I follow mostly Disney accounts, all I could see on my feed was the news that Disney had announced the cancellation of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party for 2020.

I felt really strongly about writing this post, as even though I have not before been to one of the Halloween parties, I have heard so much about it, watching so many vlogs on youtube, and as you might know, Halloween is my favourite time of the year, and I just felt instant sadness when I heard the news.

DisneyWorld in Florida will begin their re-opening of the parks on 11th July 2020, after a few months of having to close their doors. With their re-opening, they have also announced that experiences like the different parades and firework shows would also be suspended.
The news of no parades and firework shows is already so sad, as they really make the magic of the parks!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party was meant to take place on selected nights from 13th August-1st November 2020. We had actually booked tickets to go on 15th October, which we were really excited about, and Halloween is our absolute favourite, and so we’ve heard, one of the best seasonal events at DisneyWorld.

We are in the process of trying to cancel or re-book our holiday that was meant to be in October this year, and we are so incredibly gutted. But it’s funny, because for a while we have known that we will not be going this year, but it hits you so much harder when Disney announce cancellations, changes and different rules. Does anyone else find that?

If you’re feeling guilty, about being upset about a cancelled holiday at the moment, then don’t. Please try not too, it’s ok to be sad, it’s ok to have a cry, it’s ok to have your own sadness at this time, about anything.

Of course we know why they have had to cancel these type of events, and we do agree with it. But it is also so heartbreaking to have your holiday of a life time cancelled, to see your favourite place of earth struggle, and maybe not have the best Disney magic it can have. Things will be so different for a while, and it will feel so odd and weird. But, there will be an end, and we will get back to having the most magical place of earth in it’s full Disney spirit again.

We are still waiting an announcement from Disney about the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 🤍

What do you guys think about the cancellation of MNSSHP, and have your plans had to change because of all this?

Love always, G x
